Diversity

A search in the thesaurus for “diversity” takes us to such words as variety, assortment, multiplicity, range, miscellany, and mixture, and cites uniformity as an antonym.

With constant media coverage and an ever-expanding global world, communities now embrace and include all citizens of the world, and we need to learn not only to live in – but also to be successful as members of – the global society.

Attempts to honor each individual / our distinct gifts and the choices we make / have taken us to a time in our history and practice of labels and categories, names based on our uniqueness that too frequently separate and divide us.

High Road Collaboration team members have reflected on our experiences as members of underrepresented groups, and as part of well-represented majorities, and the many various ways these experiences have influenced us.  Our work, achieved through direct experience in numerous areas of diversity, is highly respected.

Collaborations are strengthened when we bring the richness of our experiences – the breadth and depth of different ways of knowing and doing – to the table.
